Prime Video has unveiled the latest developments for the second season of “Off Campus,” revealing that Canadian actors Stephen Kalyn and Mika Abdalla will take on the roles of Dean Di Laurentis and Allie Hayes, the central couple of the show. Kalyn portrays the charming hockey defenceman, originating from Markham, Ontario, and bringing his real-life experience as a lifelong hockey player to the role. Abdalla stars as Allie, a student at Briar University who works at the college bar Malone’s, frequented by Dean and his hockey teammates.

The streaming platform introduced the cast updates through a brief video and promotional images, aligning with the series’ format of focusing on a different couple each season, following the pattern set by Elle Kennedy’s popular novels. The first season adapted “The Deal,” featuring Hannah Wells and Garrett Graham, while the upcoming second season is anticipated to draw from the third book, “The Score,” delving into Dean and Allie’s relationship.

Creator and co-showrunner Louisa Levy expressed enthusiasm about delving deeper into Allie and Dean’s story in season two, building on their budding romance from the previous season. She emphasized that Hannah and Garrett would retain their significance within the show. Additionally, new cast members, including Philippa Soo and India Fowler, will join the ensemble, bringing fresh dynamics to the narrative.

“Off Campus” has emerged as a popular offering on Prime Video, currently ranking as the top show on Amazon Prime Video in Canada. The series, which premiered all eight episodes on May 13, garnered a viewership of 36 million globally within its initial 12 days, solidifying its position as one of the streaming platform’s successful launches.
