“Halle Berry Denies Abuse Allegations Amid Custody Battle”

Halle Berry refutes claims by her former spouse Olivier Martinez that she abused their 13-year-old son, Maceo. The ex-couple is set for a court hearing on Oct. 16 regarding custody and a restraining order. Martinez seeks full legal and physical custody of Maceo, along with a restraining order against Berry, citing an alleged violent incident on Sept. 26 and a history of abuse.

A temporary restraining order was granted by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge on Oct. 1, limiting Berry’s contact with Martinez and Maceo until the hearing. Martinez’s request for monitoring Berry’s sobriety was not approved due to insufficient evidence. Berry has vehemently denied the accusations, labeling them as “completely untrue” and asserting that she has never mistreated Maceo in any way.

The altercation on Sept. 26, according to Berry, began as playful roughhousing that turned into a disagreement. Berry is seeking to reinstate their prior 50-50 custody agreement. Berry and Martinez tied the knot in 2013, welcomed Maceo that same year, and finalized their divorce in 2023 with shared custody.

Martinez filed for a restraining order and sole custody on Oct. 1, alleging that Berry physically harmed Maceo. Nahla, Berry’s daughter with Gabriel Aubry, defended her mother in a declaration, refuting the allegations of abuse. Berry’s legal team disputed Martinez’s claims, highlighting past breaches of court orders. Berry filed a declaration countering Martinez’s accusations and providing her version of the events on Sept. 26.

The upcoming hearing on Oct. 16 will determine the continuation or alteration of the temporary restrictions. Berry maintains her innocence and emphasizes the importance of maintaining regular contact with Maceo.
