Lexie Adzija’s short-handed goal was crucial in the Seattle Torrent’s victory over the Toronto Sceptres, ending a three-game losing streak. This win marked the franchise’s record-breaking game with six goals, tying for the most in the Professional Women’s Hockey League this season. The 10 total goals scored in the game set a new high for a PWHL match this season, surpassing the previous record set by Minnesota and Seattle. Jessie Eldridge and Hannah Bilka contributed to Seattle’s success with goals and assists, alongside Hilary Knight, Julia Gosling, and Megan Carter, who netted her first career goal and the first for a Seattle defender this season. Goalkeeper Corinne Schroeder made 31 saves to secure the win.

For Toronto, Blayre Turnbull, Jesse Compher, Kali Flanagan, and Natalie Spooner found the back of the net in a competitive match. Turnbull and Compher quickly put Toronto ahead with early goals, but Seattle fought back. Flanagan evened the score at 3-3 with her first goal of the season in the second period.

Looking ahead, the Sceptres will face the Vancouver Goldeneyes, while the Torrent will take on the same opponent at Ball Arena in Denver as part of the PWHL’s Takeover Tour on Sunday.
