“Dolly Parton Delays Las Vegas Residency for Health Reasons”

Dolly Parton has decided to delay her Las Vegas residency, which would have been her first in 32 years, due to health issues. The renowned country singer shared this news on social media recently, mentioning that she needs to undergo some medical procedures. Parton humorously referred to it as her “100,000-mile checkup,” clarifying that it’s not the typical visit to her plastic surgeon.

The postponement of the shows was deemed necessary because Parton wouldn’t have sufficient time to rehearse and put together the high-quality performance her fans expect. Originally scheduled for December 4 to 13 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, the six shows of “Dolly: Live in Las Vegas” have been rescheduled to September 2026, coinciding with the National Finals Rodeo.

Parton assured her fans that their tickets will remain valid for the new dates, with refunds also being an option. Despite this setback, she reassured everyone that she has no intention of leaving the entertainment industry, expressing her belief that this pause is a sign to slow down and prepare for more exciting endeavors ahead.

Although she occasionally performs, Parton has not been on a tour since the conclusion of her Pure & Simple Tour in 2016. However, she has kept busy with various projects, including the upcoming release of her book, “Star of the Show: My Life on Stage,” on November 11. Additionally, a Broadway musical based on her life story is expected to premiere in 2026.

Health issues have recently disrupted Parton’s schedule, as seen when she had to miss the unveiling of a new ride at her Dollywood theme park due to a kidney stone infection. Furthermore, earlier this year, her husband of almost six decades, Carl Dean, passed away at the age of 82, following a life out of the limelight but deeply intertwined with Parton’s career and hit songs, like “Jolene.”
