Bad Bunny is set to headline the Super Bowl halftime show next year, bringing his Latin trap and reggaeton style to the NFL’s grand stage. The NFL, along with Apple Music and Roc Nation, revealed this news during halftime of the Green Bay Packers versus Dallas Cowboys game.

Expressing his gratitude, Bad Bunny stated, “This is for my people, my culture, and our history.” The Puerto Rican artist, known for his chart-topping albums like “Un Verano Sin Ti,” has been making waves in the music industry. He recently held a successful residency in Puerto Rico and is leading in nominations for the upcoming Latin Grammys.

Jay-Z, founder of Roc Nation, praised Bad Bunny for his inspiring work for Puerto Rico, calling him a global ambassador for Latin music. The 31-year-old artist, born Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, has won multiple Grammy awards and is set to host “Saturday Night Live.”

The Super Bowl halftime show, scheduled for February 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, will be co-executive produced by Roc Nation and Emmy-winning producer Jesse Collins, with Hamish Hamilton as the director. Bad Bunny’s selection is seen as a reflection of the vibrant energy he brings to the music scene.

With an impressive ability to blend genres and languages, Bad Bunny’s music has transcended boundaries and gained global recognition. Apple Music’s vice president, Oliver Schusser, expressed confidence that the upcoming show will be unforgettable.

In the previous year, Kendrick Lamar’s halftime performance set a record for viewership, surpassing even Michael Jackson’s iconic show. While there were speculations about Taylor Swift headlining the next Super Bowl halftime show, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell remained tight-lipped about any potential plans during a recent interview on NBC’s “Today” show.
