Taylor Swift enthusiasts will soon have the opportunity to experience the conclusion of the singer’s immensely successful Eras Tour in Vancouver from last December. Good Morning America revealed on Monday the upcoming release of a new movie titled “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show,” which will debut on Disney+. The film will showcase a complete concert recording of Swift’s final performance on the Eras Tour at B.C. Place.
Accompanying the movie release will be a six-episode docuseries detailing the tour, with the initial two episodes scheduled to premiere on December 12. Canada served as the concluding destination for the 149-show, 20-month Eras Tour, which attracted over 10 million fans spanning 19 countries.
Fans began to speculate about a potential film when a camera crew was spotted documenting Swift’s last three shows in Vancouver. Notably, Swift confirmed that the title track of her latest album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” concludes with live audience sounds from the sold-out B.C. Place concert, a moment that holds sentimental value for her.
The new concert feature, set to be released just before Swift’s 36th birthday, should not be confused with the 2023 film “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,” which was released prior to her 11th album, “The Tortured Poets Department.” The May 2024 addition to the tour, known as “The Tortured Poets Department” era, is not included in the initial concert film but will be highlighted in the December 12 movie.
