Blue Jays standout first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been nominated for a second consecutive Silver Slugger award. Major League Baseball revealed its finalists for the annual awards recognizing the top offensive players at each position in both leagues. Alongside Guerrero, Toronto’s shortstop Bo Bichette and designated hitter George Springer also made the cut.
The recipients, determined through votes from Major League managers and coaches excluding their own players, are set to be unveiled on November 7. Guerrero, who secured the AL first-base honor in 2021, boasted a .292 batting average with 23 home runs and 93 RBIs while only striking out 94 times in 589 at-bats.
Despite missing the final three weeks of the regular season due to a knee sprain, Bichette ranked second in the majors with 181 hits. He achieved a .311 batting average, 18 home runs, and 94 RBIs. Springer, eyeing his third Silver Slugger award and first since 2019, enjoyed a remarkable 2025 season with a career-best .309 batting average, 32 home runs, and 84 RBIs.
