Two homes in Summerside, P.E.I., were left in ruins and another suffered significant harm following a fire on Saturday night. Authorities are treating the blaze as suspicious, with Summerside police and the P.E.I. Fire Marshal’s Office conducting an inquiry.
According to a press release, the incident unfolded when Summerside police received a call about a residential fire on Belmont Street at approximately 11:38 p.m. Upon arrival, law enforcement and the Summerside Fire Department encountered a two-story dwelling engulfed in flames. Thankfully, the sole resident managed to escape unharmed.
As a precaution, nearby homes were evacuated, and multiple vehicles in the vicinity were also damaged. The press release indicates that two residences were completely obliterated, while a third sustained severe destruction.
