“Bird Strike Forces Air Canada Flight Return”

An Air Canada flight traveling from Halifax to London, England, was forced to return back to the airport approximately 30 minutes after takeoff on Sunday afternoon due to a collision with a bird.

According to a spokesperson from the Halifax airport, flight AC868 departed at 12:08 p.m. AT, slightly later than its scheduled time. The aircraft safely landed back at the airport around 12:40 p.m.

Air Canada has stated that the 156 passengers aboard the Boeing 737 plane are currently being rebooked on alternative flights to reach their intended destinations. The airline has confirmed that maintenance teams are conducting inspections on the affected aircraft.

The incident has caused a minor disruption to the travel plans of the passengers, but the airline is working swiftly to accommodate and assist them with their onward journeys.
