Progress Made in Containing Ebola Outbreak in DRC

The recent Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo is showing progress towards containment, as reported by the World Health Organization. No new confirmed or probable cases have been recorded since the organization’s update on October 1. In the Kasai Province of Congo, a total of 64 cases have been documented, including 11 probable cases and 43 fatalities, with 11 of those deaths classified as probable. The WHO noted that there have been ten consecutive days without any new reported cases as of Sunday, suggesting a possible containment of the virus in the impacted regions.
