Chappell Roan Drops Talent Agency Over Maxwell Affiliation

Pop singer Chappell Roan announced on Monday that she has severed ties with the talent agency overseen by Casey Wasserman, the head of Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, due to his controversial past interactions with convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell. Wasserman expressed regret for his communications with Maxwell following the exposure of their intimate emails.

Recently disclosed files by the U.S. Justice Department shed light on flirtatious exchanges between Wasserman, who was married at the time, and Maxwell in 2003. Roan took to Instagram to declare her departure from Wasserman’s agency, emphasizing the importance of artists aligning with representation that upholds their values and well-being.

Wasserman, a prominent figure in sports and entertainment, refuted any personal or professional ties to Epstein, distancing himself from the scandal. He clarified that his association with Maxwell occurred prior to her criminal activities being made public. The talent agency declined to comment immediately on the matter.

Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence following her 2021 conviction in New York for various charges, including the trafficking of minors, was arrested in 2020 for her involvement in Epstein’s illicit activities between 1994 and 2004. The extensive release of internal documents by the U.S. Justice Department has exposed Epstein’s connections with numerous influential individuals, both before and after his conviction in 2008. Epstein’s death in 2019 was determined to be a suicide while in custody.
