Niagara authorities have reported that a man wanted in connection with a sudden death in Niagara Falls, Ontario, surrendered himself on Tuesday. The police were called to a scene where they discovered the body of a 22-year-old woman in a parking lot behind a building on October 14. Subsequently, the homicide unit took over the investigation, leading to an arrest, as stated in a news release on October 15.
A 43-year-old resident of Niagara Falls was apprehended and charged with disrespecting a deceased body. Additionally, authorities were looking for a 38-year-old man facing the same accusation. On Tuesday evening, law enforcement confirmed that the 38-year-old had turned himself in, is currently in custody, and is set to appear at a bail hearing on Wednesday, October 22.
In a statement to CBC Hamilton, Niagara police mentioned that the cause of the woman’s demise is still being investigated. They emphasized that it is premature to link the two men to the incident until the results of the post-mortem analysis are obtained. Stephanie Sabourin, the corporate communications manager of Niagara police, highlighted that the post-mortem findings will play a crucial role in unveiling the circumstances surrounding the woman’s passing. As the investigation progresses, further comments on potential charges or the categorization of the death have been postponed.
