“Chiropractor Admits Guilt: Filmed Patients with Hidden Cameras”

A Winnipeg chiropractor, Dr. Robert Stitt, age 67, has pleaded guilty to voyeurism charges after being accused of using hidden cameras disguised as sprinkler heads to film patients. The guilty plea was made before Manitoba provincial court Judge Mark Kantor in a Winnipeg courtroom.

The charge Dr. Stitt admitted to pertains to incidents that occurred between Nov. 29, 2023, and Jan. 1, 2024, involving eight female victims. Initially facing seven additional counts of voyeurism, those charges were dropped during the court proceedings.

During the hearing, Richard Wolson, Stitt’s lawyer, asked if by pleading guilty, Stitt was admitting to the allegations, to which Stitt affirmed. The Crown has requested a summary conviction proceeding for Stitt, carrying a maximum penalty of six months’ imprisonment and/or a $2,000 fine for voyeurism.

Following a year-long investigation by Winnipeg police, sparked by a tip from the Manitoba Chiropractors Association regarding hidden cameras in Stitt’s Portage Avenue office, he was charged. The association alerted authorities after a visit by one of their investigators who discovered the concealed cameras while looking into a separate complaint.

Police confiscated five camera-disguised sprinkler heads and a recording device from Stitt’s office in January 2024. Stitt had shown an investigator video recordings purportedly to clear his name, but the footage revealed unidentified females undressing, including one with exposed breasts.

In December 2024, holes were still visible in the ceilings of Stitt’s now-vacant office, where no sprinkler system was installed. Stitt’s chiropractic license was suspended in January 2024 by the Manitoba Chiropractors Association pending court resolution.

Dr. Robert Stitt awaits sentencing, scheduled for a later date.
