In addition to Coyne Schofield’s goals, Katy Knoll, Britta Curl-Salemme, and Grace Zumwinkle also found the back of the net for the Frost, with Taylor Heise contributing three assists. On the other side, Daryl Watts scored the lone goal for Toronto, with Elaine Chuli making 14 saves before being replaced by Raygan Kirk in the third period.
Watts opened the scoring for Toronto early in the game, but Knoll quickly equalized for Minnesota with a rebound goal. Curl-Salemme then put the Frost ahead with a remarkable shot, followed by Zumwinkle extending the lead with a power-play goal assisted by Coyne Schofield. Coyne Schofield added to the scoreline just before the end of the second period and sealed the victory with an empty-net goal late in the game.
