Canadian freestyle skier Marion Thénault secured a silver medal at a World Cup aerials event held in her home country. Thénault claimed second place in the women’s competition, earning a total of 81.78 points. Winter Vinecki from the United States emerged as the top performer with an impressive score of 93.58, while Emma Weiss of Germany took the third spot with 79.33 points.
Hailing from Sherbrooke, located approximately 250 kilometers south of Lac-Beauport, Thénault added another accolade to her collection, marking her fourth medal of the World Cup season, consisting of two silver and two bronze medals. Notably, she was the sole Canadian athlete to advance to the women’s final round.
In the men’s competition, Ukraine’s Dmytro Kotovskyi clinched the gold medal, followed by Sun Jiaxu from China and Quinn Dehlinger representing the United States. Among the Canadian contenders, Miha Fontaine secured the highest position, finishing in eighth place.
