Renowned environmentalist David Suzuki also endorsed Lewis recently, adding to his list of high-profile supporters. With the Jan. 28 membership deadline approaching, other NDP leadership contenders have been securing notable endorsements.
Former Ontario MP Charlie Angus has endorsed Alberta MP Heather McPherson, emphasizing the need for experienced leadership in rebuilding the party. Meanwhile, union leader Rob Ashton has garnered support from the United Steelworkers union, a key ally of the NDP with a strong political organizing arm.
