Blue Jays’ manager John Schneider shook up the lineup for Game 2 of the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Bo Bichette, who returned after a seven-week absence in Game 1, was on the bench. Isiah Kiner-Falefa started at second base, while Nathan Lukes and Addison Barger replaced Davis Schneider and Myles Straw in the outfield.
Despite being a shortstop, Bichette made his first start at second base for the team after being added to the roster for Game 1 due to a knee injury. Schneider mentioned that they were cautious with him after the break and wanted to monitor his physical condition.
Kevin Gausman and Yoshinobu Yamamoto were the starting pitchers for Game 2, with Max Scherzer confirmed for Game 3 and Shane Bieber for Game 4. The potential Game 5 would be hosted by the Dodgers, and if Games 6 and 7 were necessary, they would take place in Toronto.
In Game 1, Bichette had a single in the first inning and grounded into a double play in the third before drawing a walk in the sixth inning. He was then substituted by Kiner-Falefa. Bichette had an impressive .311 batting average in the previous season and led the Blue Jays with 181 hits.
