“Blue Jays Face Mariners in Epic Game 7 Showdown”

The Toronto Blue Jays are gearing up for a crucial Game 7 clash against the Seattle Mariners in the American League Championship Series at the Rogers Centre. The Blue Jays are on the brink of reaching the World Series after an impressive playoff journey.

In 2016, the Blue Jays reached the ALCS but fell short against Cleveland. Fast forward to 2025, they defeated the New York Yankees in the ALDS to set up this showdown with the Mariners.

Back in 1993, the Blue Jays clinched their second consecutive World Series title by triumphing over the Philadelphia Phillies. A victory in tonight’s Game 7 would mark their return to the championship series after a 32-year hiatus.

Max Scherzer, known as “Mad Max,” made history by becoming the fourth MLB starting pitcher aged 41 or older to secure a post-season win. His milestone achievement came in Game 4 of the ALCS, marking his 500th career start.

Rookie pitcher Trey Yesavage, at the age of 22, has been turning heads with his performance, making his presence felt in the league with just six career starts, including a notable appearance in Game 6 against the Mariners.

Utility player Ernie Clement has been a standout performer for the Jays this post-season, accumulating 17 hits. This surpasses the total hits by the Milwaukee Brewers in the entire NLCS, who managed only 14 hits as a team.

The Blue Jays have joined a select group as the 14th team to go from division worst to first within a year since the MLB’s realignment in 1969, following the footsteps of the Boston Red Sox in 2015-16.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr., also known as Vladdy Jr., broke records by hitting his sixth post-season home run in Game 6 against the Mariners. He now shares the record for most career post-season home runs with Jose Bautista and Joe Carter.

The Blue Jays need just one more victory to secure a spot in the World Series. The winner of Game 7 will face the L.A. Dodgers, who swept the Brewers in the NLCS and will defend their World Series title starting on October 24.

Despite the outcome, the Blue Jays’ post-season journey has been filled with memorable moments. For fans without tickets, the City of Toronto will host a free viewing party at David Pecaut Square for tonight’s game.
