“Bobby the Greek’s Criminal Network Exposed”

Share

After a homicide incident in 2019, police conducted a search at the residence of Charalambos Theologou, who was fatally shot at a busy Starbucks in Laval, Quebec. During the search, authorities discovered a significant amount of cash, a bulletproof vest, and financial documents indicating Theologou’s involvement in illegal activities. These records, detailed in a search warrant report reviewed by CBC, outlined individuals indebted to Theologou, including his associates and names of Montreal-area restaurants.

The uncovered financial records shed light on Theologou’s alleged connections to extortion and criminal activities, which reportedly led to his demise in a daring daylight shooting. Despite previous criminal convictions for drug trafficking, conspiracy, and firearm possession dating back to the early 2010s, recent search warrant evidence portrayed Theologou as the leader of a prominent drug trafficking network.

Referred to as Bobby the Greek, Theologou led a group known as the Chomedey Greeks and was involved in extorting restaurant owners for protection money, as per Radio-Canada reports. An investigation linked Theologou to a murder case in 2019, where Michail Michakis, a convicted drug trafficker working for Theologou, was fatally shot in Laval’s Chomedey neighborhood.

Subsequently, Quebec provincial police raided Theologou’s properties, uncovering cash, financial records, and illicit substances. Despite the findings, Theologou declined to cooperate with investigators. An SQ investigator highlighted the stark contrast between Theologou’s lavish lifestyle and legitimate income, emphasizing suspicions of unreported revenue sources.

The financial documents disclosed numerous debtors owing money to Theologou, including restaurants and businesses in Montreal. While Theologou was believed to run a drug trafficking ring and operate as a loan shark, no charges were pressed in connection to Michakis’s murder or the discovered cocaine. The incident at Starbucks, where Theologou and two associates were shot, coincided with undercover police surveillance inside the café. The SQ linked a burning car in Montreal to the shooting, indicating a potential connection.

A previous Parole Board decision from 2013 highlighted Theologou’s involvement in drug activities during imprisonment, expressing doubts about his rehabilitation due to his affinity for wealth and criminal behavior.
