Hockey Canada revealed the official Olympic hockey uniforms for the men’s, women’s, and Para teams set to participate in the upcoming Milan-Cortina Games. Athletes from Canada’s women’s, men’s, and para hockey squads will have a choice between two jerseys: a white one featuring a red maple leaf and a red one with a black maple leaf.
The maple leaf crests on the jerseys have a multi-tone design resembling a diamond, symbolizing the athletes’ capacity to endure immense pressure, according to Hockey Canada. CEO Katherine Henderson highlighted that the jerseys embody the essence of Canadian hockey and the fervor exhibited by fans when supporting the athletes.
The jerseys, designed by Nike, were debuted during the intermission of the Rivalry Series opener game between Canada and the U.S. David Shoemaker, the chief executive officer and secretary general of the Canadian Olympic Committee, emphasized that these jerseys not only serve as uniforms but also represent the rich heritage, passion, and pride of Canada’s Olympic hockey tradition.
The Canadian women’s team will commence their gold medal defense on February 5, just a day before the opening ceremony. The men’s team, including NHL players for the first time since the 2014 Sochi Games, will start their campaign on February 12. The Para hockey tournament is scheduled to kick off on March 6. The upcoming Milano Cortina 2026 Games mark a significant moment in hockey history, with the return of NHL players and the debut of the PWHL at the Winter Olympics. Fans are eagerly anticipating the thrilling competitions and are ready to support the Canadian teams in their quest for gold.
