A duo of Canadian athletes stood on the podium during the women’s freestyle skiing slopestyle World Cup competition held in Aspen, Colorado, on Friday. Megan Oldham, hailing from Parry Sound, Ontario, and Elena Gaskell, representing Vernon, British Columbia, clinched the silver and bronze medals, respectively. The gold medal was secured by Kirsty Muir from Great Britain.
Oldham secured the silver medal with a score of 73.02 on her second run, while Gaskell earned the bronze with a final run score of 72.90. In the men’s event, American skier Mac Forehand claimed the gold with a score of 77.38, followed by Henry Sildaru from Estonia with silver (75.90) and Ulrik Samnoey from Norway with bronze (74.64).
Max Moffatt was the highest-ranking Canadian male athlete, finishing in sixth place with a score of 72.71 on his second run.
