Canadian figure skaters Alicia Fabbri and Paul Ayer secured a fourth-place finish in ice dance, while Gabrielle Daleman landed in seventh in the women’s singles competition at the Four Continents Championships held in Beijing. The ice dance podium was dominated by American skaters, with Emilea Zingas and Vadym Kolesnik clinching gold with 202.86 points. Caroline Green and Michael Parsons claimed silver with 194.72 points, and Oona and Gage Brown took home the bronze with 190.78 points.

Fabbri and Ayer, who have previously won bronze at the Canadian championships twice, accumulated a total of 183.49 points. In the women’s singles event, Yuna Aoki from Japan secured the gold with an impressive score of 217.39 points, followed by her compatriots Ami Nakai with 215.78 points earning silver, and Mone Chiba with 202.23 points securing the bronze medal.

Daleman, a seasoned two-time Olympian, slipped from fourth place after the short program to seventh position following the free skate, finishing with a total of 183.47 points. This event marked her second international competition appearance after a hiatus of three seasons due to a back injury and two ankle surgeries.

Although Daleman aimed to secure a spot in her third Olympics in singles, it was Madeline Schizas who earned Canada’s sole spot for the upcoming Milan Cortina Games in February. Notably, a number of skaters bound for the Olympics, including Schizas, opted out of the Four Continents Championships due to its proximity to the Games.
