A domestic assault charge against Ryan Albright, the CEO of Covered Bridge Potato Chip Company, has been dismissed in the United States. The charge stemmed from an alleged incident in Bangor, Maine, on October 19, 2024. According to a clerk at the Penobscot County Court who spoke to CBC News, Albright’s case was resolved on Wednesday, although specific details were not disclosed.

Following the incident, Albright opted to take an extended leave of absence citing “personal health challenges,” as announced by Covered Bridge just four days later. The company, headquartered in Waterville near Hartland, New Brunswick, appointed Brook Dickinson as the executive vice president during Albright’s absence.

Despite reaching out to Covered Bridge for clarification on Albright’s current leave status, CBC News has not yet received a response. In response to the Maine incident, Bangor Police Sgt. Jason McAmbley mentioned to CBC News that they responded to a “family altercation” and intervened to separate the individuals involved. The alleged victim reportedly sustained minor injuries, with no further details available at the time.

Albright was arrested, charged, and briefly held at Penobscot County Jail before posting bail and being released on the same day.
