Fatal ATV Collision Near Northern Store in Rankin Inlet

RCMP officials in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, have reported a fatality resulting from a collision involving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) near the local Northern store. The incident occurred on Thursday around 4:08 p.m., as indicated in a news release issued by the authorities on Friday.

Upon arrival at the scene, Rankin Inlet Emergency Medical Services (EMS) immediately administered life-saving procedures to a 60-year-old man involved in the accident. Despite efforts to save him, the individual was subsequently transferred to the nearby hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with both the Rankin Inlet RCMP and the Nunavut coroner’s office actively looking into the matter. In their official statement, the RCMP extended their condolences to the family and acquaintances of the deceased individual.
