The Canadian Premier League will be establishing its presence in Quebec by 2026. FC Supra has been designated as the league’s ninth team, as confirmed by the CPL on Wednesday. The team will be stationed at Stade Boreale in Laval, Que., a venue shared with the Northern Super League’s Montreal Roses FC. This stadium will serve as both the playing field for matches and the headquarters for training and administrative operations.
FC Supra, the inaugural Quebec-based club in the CPL, is spearheaded by an ownership consortium consisting of Matt Rizzetta, Angelo Pasto, Stephane Tetrault, and Jean-Francois Chenail. The team revealed its moniker, emblem, and colors during a presentation at Complex Multi-Sports de Laval. The logo, shaped like a diamond, showcases red and blue hues on either side with a white S running through the center.
The addition of FC Supra raises the question of whether the Montreal region can accommodate three professional soccer teams. While CF Montreal and the Montreal Roses are already active in the area, many soccer enthusiasts believe there is ample space for a third team in the Canadian Premier League.
