“Flavor Flav Joins USA Bobsled Team in ‘Coolest Runnings'”

At the age of 66, Flavor Flav experienced the thrill of sliding at a speed of 106 kilometers per hour, sparking his interest in the sport. The renowned musician, reality TV personality, and founding member of Public Enemy has recently become a fan of the United States bobsled and skeleton program. USA Bobsled and Skeleton officially welcomed Flav as their new hype man following his time spent with the team at the 2002 Olympic track in Utah.

Flav expressed his excitement about the partnership, dubbing it “Coolest Runnings,” referencing the popular movie “Cool Runnings.” During his visit to Park City, Utah, Flav had the opportunity to ride in a bobsled and also attempted the skeleton sport, where athletes can reach speeds over 129 km/h. Despite initial safety precautions, Flav insisted on starting from a higher point on the track, showcasing his adventurous spirit and determination. Ultimately, he achieved a speed of 108 km/h on his second run, impressing team members with his natural talent.

Known for his involvement in various sports events, Flav has been a celebrity mayo-pourer at the Duke’s Mayo Bowl, a performer during Super Bowl weeks, and a supporter of Olympians such as discus thrower Veronica Fraley. His energetic presence and enthusiasm have boosted the morale of the bobsled and skeleton team, with members praising his impact on team dynamics. Flav’s commitment to the sport is evident as he plans to participate in a slider camp in Park City after the Olympics.
