Environment Canada has issued a warning for several communities located north of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, cautioning about near-zero temperatures expected on Thursday night and Friday morning that may result in frost formation.
The areas affected include Hamilton, Haldimand-Norfolk, Brantford, and Six Nations.
The federal agency advises gardeners and growers in these regions to take precautions by covering sensitive plants to safeguard them from the potential frost damage.
According to the alert issued on Thursday, frost advisories are triggered when temperatures are forecasted to drop to freezing levels during the growing season, posing risks of harm and destruction to plants and crops.
