Hailing from Mont-Sainte-Anne, Quebec, Viel earned a score of 79.30 in the second men’s event, marking his fourth World Cup medal achievement. The gold was claimed by Australia’s Matt Graham with 81.72 points, closely followed by Japan’s Ikuma Horishima at 80.58.
Renowned skier Mikaël Kingsbury from Deux-Montagnes, Quebec, opted out of the competition on Monday after withdrawing from Sunday’s men’s event prior to the small final due to a groin injury.
