Justin Bieber achieved a new milestone at the American Music Awards held on Monday night by securing the title of best male pop artist for the fifth time, a feat never before accomplished by any musician. Hailing from Stratford, Ontario, Bieber had previously clinched the award four times, initially winning it in 2010 under the previous name of favorite pop/rock male artist.
At this year’s awards ceremony in Las Vegas, Bieber was nominated for four categories, including artist of the year and album of the year for his 2021 release, “Swag.” With this recent win, Bieber’s tally of American Music Awards now stands at 19, putting him on par with the late Kenny Rogers for the second-most wins by a male artist. Michael Jackson holds the top spot among male artists with a total of 24 awards.
Justin Bieber made a notable return to the concert scene last month at Coachella, where he headlined for the first time since his tour cancellation in 2022 due to health complications from Ramsay Hunt syndrome. Among other significant winners at the event were BTS, who claimed the artist of the year title, and Sabrina Carpenter, who secured album of the year honors.
