Most NDP Members of Parliament faced travel challenges today due to weather issues, leaving some stranded in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut as Parliament reconvened in Ottawa. A spokesperson for the party mentioned that four MPs, including interim leader Don Davies, were stuck in Rankin Inlet until Sunday before starting their journey to Ottawa. Davies explained that their return flights from the caucus retreat were canceled on Friday because of the adverse weather conditions. However, NDP MPs Heather McPherson and Alexandre Boulerice managed to make it to the House of Commons for the session. Manitoba MP Leah Gazan is anticipated to join virtually from Winnipeg, while the NDP caucus plans to regroup in Ottawa on Tuesday following a weekend marked by severe cold weather across Canada, including Nunavut.
