The streaming giant has greenlit a 10-episode series based on Fortune’s third book, following Lucy’s summer escapade in Prince Edward Island where she encounters Felix, sparking a captivating chemistry despite the complication of him being her best friend Bridget’s younger brother.
As the narrative unfolds in the scenic backdrop of P.E.I., Lucy grapples with her growing feelings for Felix while trying to protect her heart, especially when Bridget faces a crisis before her wedding, prompting Lucy to confront her emotions. The TV series will be filmed in Toronto and on Prince Edward Island to authentically capture the essence of the novel’s settings.

Fortune’s literary repertoire includes “One Golden Summer,” “Every Summer After,” and “Meet Me at the Lake,” with her upcoming release, “Our Perfect Storm,” slated for publication on May 5th. Notably, “Every Summer After” is currently undergoing production for a television adaptation titled “Every Year After” on Amazon Prime Video. Additionally, “Meet Me at the Lake” was picked up for a film adaptation in 2023 by Netflix and Archewell Productions, the latter owned by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Furthermore, “Meet Me at the Lake” made history as the first romance title to be featured on Canada Reads, championed in 2024 by Mirian Njoh. This recognition highlights the growing appeal and recognition of Fortune’s work in the literary and entertainment spheres.
