Share

Nova Scotians are now able to schedule appointments to receive the current season’s COVID-19 and flu vaccinations. Public Health is advising individuals aged six months and above to get vaccinated.

Dr. Robert Strang, Nova Scotia’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, emphasized the importance of vaccination in safeguarding oneself, loved ones, and the community during the respiratory illness season. He highlighted the significance of higher-risk individuals, particularly older adults and those with chronic health conditions, along with their caregivers, getting vaccinated for added protection.

Appointments can be made via the province’s online booking system, the YourHealthNS app, by contacting a primary care provider, or by calling 1-833-797-7772. Those aged 65 and above are eligible for an enhanced flu vaccine offering improved protection. Families can book appointments for up to six individuals simultaneously.

It is recommended that individuals wait at least three months post-COVID-19 infection or vaccination before receiving the new vaccine.
