The police responded to the incident on Head Street South around 10:30 a.m., with an increased law enforcement presence in the vicinity.
Initial assessments indicate that this incident appears to be isolated, without posing a wider threat, according to a police statement. The Norfolk OPP crime unit is leading the investigation in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service in Toronto, supported by the OPP Forensic Identification Services.
Authorities have reassured the public that there is no known danger to the community, but advise individuals to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious behavior to the police as a precautionary measure. A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place on Monday as part of the ongoing investigation.
