The Ottawa Redblacks have relieved head coach Bob Dyce of his duties following the team’s sixth consecutive loss to end the season. This decision was made after Ottawa’s 35-15 defeat against Hamilton, resulting in the Redblacks missing the CFL playoffs for the fifth time since their 2018 Grey Cup appearance.
Bob Dyce had been a part of the Redblacks organization since 2016, initially serving as the special-teams coordinator before assuming the head coaching role in 2022. Despite leading the team to a 9-8-1 record and securing a playoff spot last season after a five-year drought, the Redblacks struggled this year, finishing with a 4-14 record under Dyce’s leadership. Throughout his tenure as head coach, Dyce accumulated a total record of 18-39-1.
General manager Shawn Burke expressed the challenging nature of the decision, acknowledging Dyce’s dedication and strong work ethic during his time with the team.
