Alexa Lawlor, a 28-year-old resident of Regina, has amassed an extensive collection of Scooby-Doo memorabilia over the years. She has lost count of the number of items in her collection and the amount of money spent on acquiring them. Lawlor emphasizes that her collection is not about quantity but about the sentimental value each item holds for her.

Her fascination with Scooby-Doo started as a child when she saw a toy that sparked her love for the franchise. Growing up in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Scooby-Doo was a popular gift choice due to the release of live-action movies. Lawlor’s collection grew organically over time, filling her living room with various items like vintage jigsaw puzzles, VHS tapes, dolls, figurines, and more.

Apart from standard merchandise, Lawlor’s collection includes unique pieces such as character reference guides used by Hanna-Barbera staff, a storyboard from a Scooby-Doo film, and an autographed print by the original animators of the Scooby-Doo gang. Her collection has expanded to cover most of her living space, with items displayed on bookshelves and scattered throughout her home.

Lawlor’s knack for finding rare Scooby-Doo items led her to various sources like online marketplaces, second-hand stores, flea markets, and garage sales. She even managed to acquire a giant Scooby-Doo display from a Spirit Halloween store by persuading the staff to sell it to her.

In addition to her collection, Lawlor hosts a podcast called “The Unmasked History of Scooby-Doo,” where she interviews individuals connected to the franchise. Her passion for Scooby-Doo stems from the show’s ability to take viewers on a captivating journey with relatable characters and unexpected plot twists. Lawlor’s podcast has garnered attention from fans and industry professionals, allowing her to delve deeper into the beloved franchise’s history and impact.

Lawlor’s dedication to preserving the legacy of Scooby-Doo through her collection and podcast exemplifies her profound love for the franchise and its enduring appeal to audiences of all ages.
