A recent rendition of Queen’s iconic song “Bohemian Rhapsody” has caught the attention of many, with TikTok creator Ella Mott performing the 1975 hit in Minionese at the premiere of “Minions & Monsters” in Hollywood. In a viral video shared on Instagram, Mott sang the rock classic in the playful and nonsensical language of the Minions, garnering over 420,000 views.
Minionese, also known as the “Banana Language,” is a gibberish language inspired by various real-world languages like English, featuring words such as “banana,” “bapple,” and “potato.” Mott’s flawless performance in Minionese has impressed fans, with many praising her unique talent on social media platforms.
Fans have lauded Mott for her rendition, with one user jokingly commenting that Freddie Mercury would have been proud. Mott, who seems to be proficient in Minionese, has shared several videos on her TikTok account showcasing her skills in the whimsical language, including a humorous impression of a Minion influencer.
This is not the first time Mott’s Minionese version of “Bohemian Rhapsody” has gained popularity. A previous video she posted on TikTok went viral, accumulating millions of likes and views. The performance was part of a Minion singing contest held during the premiere of “Minions & Monsters,” with the winner singing “I’ll Be There” by the Jackson 5 and receiving a Golden Banana.
“Minions & Monsters,” the seventh installment in the “Despicable Me” franchise, is set to hit theaters on July 1.
