Will Dandjinou secured another gold medal at the recent short track World Tour event, solidifying his hold on the men’s overall season title.

The victory came in the men’s 1,500-meter final at the season’s final stop in Dordrecht, Netherlands. This win propelled him to an unassailable lead in the men’s overall season standings, earning him consecutive Crystal Globe titles.

Will Dandjinou’s win in the men’s 1,500-meter short track speed skating World Tour event in Dordrecht, Netherlands, secured him the Crystal Globe for the men’s title, with teammate Felix Roussel taking silver.

The Montreal native finished first with a time of 2 minutes, 16.600 seconds, earning his seventh individual gold medal of the season. His Canadian compatriot Felix Roussel from Sherbrooke, Que., followed closely behind, clinching silver with a time of 2:16.670.

“It feels amazing to stand on the podium with Felix Roussel; we’ve talked about it from the start of the season,” Dandjinou expressed after the award ceremony. “During the national trials, we were in intense competition, and I believe he also deserved the gold today. I am thrilled to share this victory with him.”

China’s Sun Long completed the podium, securing the bronze medal with a time of 2:16.772.

Dandjinou also secured the World Tour title in the men’s 500m final with a silver medal, accumulating a total of 832 points for the season. His closest rival, Italy’s Pietro Sighel, trails behind with 594 points.

“I’m delighted to share the podium with Félix in the 1500m event, especially in such an electrifying atmosphere here in Dordrecht,” Dandjinou commented. “I’m pleased with my performance in the 500m as well; it was a tactically challenging race. Today’s competitions provided valuable lessons for both me and the team as a whole.”

In a previous interview with host Ariel Helwani, Dandjinou discussed his aspirations for the upcoming Milano-Cortina Winter Games.
