Canadian actor Simu Liu, known for his role in Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” has recently gotten married to Allison Hsu, a music industry executive. The couple tied the knot over the weekend, as confirmed by Liu’s publicist to CBC News. Their wedding celebrations took place in France, initially reported by TMZ.
Liu and Hsu made their engagement public on social media during a trip to Paris in May 2025. They have since shared images from various wedding-related events in Mexico and a summer trip to Paris. The couple has been open about their relationship, frequently posting about each other on social media, with Liu discussing their bond in interviews.
Liu, who was born in China and raised in Toronto, is set to reprise his role as Shang-Chi in the upcoming Marvel film “Avengers: Doomsday.” His portrayal of the Marvel character has propelled him to international fame, following his success in the CBC comedy “Kim’s Convenience.”
In addition to his Marvel role, Liu has been involved in various projects, including a role in the film “Barbie,” voice acting in “In Your Dreams,” and starring in the spy series “The Copenhagen Test.” He also returned to his theater roots with a performance in the Tony-winning comedy “Oh, Mary!” on Broadway earlier this year.
