Several lanes and ramps along Highway 417 are set to shut down over the weekend as construction work continues on the Preston, Rochester, and Booth Street bridges. The closures are scheduled to start on Friday night and are anticipated to last until around 5 a.m. on Monday.

During the weekend, the left lane on Highway 417 eastbound from the O-Train to Bronson Avenue will be closed, with the center lane in that section also closing nightly. Additionally, the right lane on Highway 417 westbound will be shut down from O’Connor to Bronson.

Furthermore, closures will affect the eastbound Parkdale on-ramp, eastbound Rochester off-ramp, and westbound Bronson off-ramps. Kiewit Dufferin Midtown Partnership, the company tasked with replacing the bridges and noise barriers along the highway, stated in a press release that the closures are necessary for transporting concrete slabs, excavation, asphalt paving, line painting, and drainage enhancements.
