Share

The Vancouver Whitecaps are set to face San Diego FC in California this Saturday in the Major League Soccer Western Conference final. Fans who purchased tickets for a possible MLS playoff game at B.C. Place will receive refunds following San Diego FC’s 1-0 victory over the Minnesota Loons in the conference semifinals on Monday night.

In their conference semifinal last weekend, the Whitecaps emerged victorious in penalty shootouts against Los Angeles FC in front of a 54,000-strong crowd at B.C. Place. This win secured their spot in the Western Conference final against either San Diego or Minnesota, depending on the outcome of Monday’s match.

San Diego topped the Western Conference standings during the regular season, while the Loons held the fourth position. The upcoming clash between Vancouver and San Diego will take place on Saturday at 6 p.m. PT at Snapdragon Stadium. The winner will progress to the MLS championship on December 6, where they will face either Inter Miami CF, led by Lionel Messi, or New York City FC. These two teams will also compete in the Eastern Conference final on the same day.

Ticket sales were initially opened at B.C. Place last Sunday for a potential game against Minnesota, which Vancouver would have hosted due to their superior regular-season record. However, with the change in venue, San Diego will now host the Whitecaps on Saturday evening. Ticketmaster has informed ticket holders via email that refunds for the Vancouver game can be obtained through the original payment method without any further action required.
