A 19-year-old man in Regina died over the weekend, sparking a homicide investigation. The incident occurred at a residence on the 1000 block of 12th Avenue near Winnipeg Street around 1 a.m. CST on Saturday. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered the deceased man, who had suffered a gunshot wound. Subsequently, the Regina Police Service major crime unit and forensic identification unit were called in to conduct an investigation, determining the death as a homicide. The victim’s identity will remain undisclosed at the family’s request. This marks the city’s 11th homicide of the year.

Residents in the area are urged to thoroughly inspect their surroundings, including eavestroughs, shrubs, beneath decks, and in unsecured sheds or garages.
