RCMP have confirmed that the human remains discovered in a charred vehicle close to Dawson Creek, B.C., have been positively identified as an individual from Edmonton. The deceased, Jesse Twain, aged 29, was found on October 13 inside a gray 2005 Mazda 6 near 251 Road and the Kiskatinaw River, approximately 40 kilometers away from Dawson Creek in northeastern British Columbia.
Authorities are treating Twain’s death as a homicide. Before his identification, Twain was reported missing by Fort St. John RCMP on October 17. According to initial reports, he was last spotted in Fort St. John on October 10, a town about 75 kilometers northwest of Dawson Creek. In a statement dated October 17, RCMP mentioned that Twain’s family and law enforcement had expressed concerns about his well-being.
Law enforcement officials are appealing for information from individuals who might have encountered Twain or the specific Mazda vehicle in the days leading up to October 13.
