Actor Dylan Walsh from “Heated Rivalry” found himself in hot water after hinting at the possibility of shooting twelve new episodes for the popular hockey romance series. This sparked speculation among fans about potential multiple seasons in the works.

In a video shared on the Cameo platform, the 62-year-old American actor, known for his role as the father of hockey player Shane Hollander portrayed by Canadian actor Hudson Williams, expressed his affection for the show. Walsh mentioned his pride in being part of “Heated Rivalry” and praised the character of Shane’s father. He hinted at returning to Canada to film additional episodes, suggesting a total of twelve new episodes.

However, Walsh faced backlash for his comments and subsequently issued an apology, clarifying that his remarks were speculative and not based on official information. He temporarily paused his Cameo account and expressed gratitude for the enthusiasm surrounding the series.

The production team of “Heated Rivalry” has yet to respond to inquiries regarding Walsh’s statements. The show has been lauded for its success and fan following, with recent controversies including criticism over casting choices and the need for privacy at production locations.

Speculation arose among fans following Walsh’s video, with some suggesting that production might be underway for both the second and a potential third season of the show. The first season of “Heated Rivalry” consisted of six episodes, and the show’s creator, Jacob Tierney, previously stated a preference for concise seasons.

Based on Canadian author Rachel Reid’s Game Changers series, “Heated Rivalry” has received numerous accolades, including a Peabody Award and a Canadian Screen Award for best drama series. The second season, currently in production in Toronto and Montreal, has introduced five new cast members, as announced by Crave Canada on Instagram.

The addition of new cast members and ongoing production activities have fueled excitement among fans and industry insiders, solidifying the show’s position as a beloved series in the Canadian entertainment landscape.
