The rising star showcased her progress by causing an upset in the first round of the Australian Open in Melbourne. She defeated Canada’s Leylah Fernandez, the 22nd seed, with a score of 6-2, 7-6 (1) in a match lasting one hour and 43 minutes. Tjen’s statistics included four aces, 17 winners, six double faults, and 27 unforced errors, while Fernandez recorded two aces, 16 winners, five double faults, and 28 unforced errors.

Mboko and Jovic displayed strong performance, winning 70% of their points on first serve and securing a victory in return games.

Another highlight of the tournament was Jannik Sinner’s swift advancement in the Australian Open. The No. 2-ranked player had a comfortable start, leading 6-2, 6-1 against Hugo Gaston before his opponent retired due to an injury. Sinner expressed disappointment in the manner of victory and aims to secure his third consecutive Australian Open title.

Naomi Osaka made a striking entrance onto the court, sporting unique attire inspired by a jellyfish design. The four-time major winner proceeded to win her match against Antonia Ruzic. Madison Keys, the ninth seed, faced initial challenges but managed to progress in her title defense.

In other matches, various players demonstrated impressive performances, including Ben Shelton’s victory over Ugo Humbert and Lorenzo Musetti’s advancement due to his opponent’s retirement. The Australian Open continues with exciting matches and notable player achievements.
