Kristýna Kaltounková made an early goal, followed by Savannah Norcross scoring a late goal, leading the New York Sirens to a 2-0 victory over the Vancouver Goldeneyes. Kaltounková scored just 1:21 into the first period, securing her fourth goal of the season and giving New York the lead. With an assist from rookie Anna Bargman, Kaltounková beat goalie Emerance Maschmeyer to the glove side.
In the third period, Norcross scored her first career goal at 4:39, extending New York’s lead to 2-0. Emmy Fecteau and Kayla Vespa provided their first assists of the season on the goal. Goaltender Kayle Osborne, who has started every game this season, recorded 27 saves for the Sirens, earning her second shutout of the season and her first since the season opener against Ottawa.
Last season, Osborne had one shutout against Ottawa in eight starts and 10 appearances as a rookie. Maschmeyer made 24 saves for the Goldeneyes, who are still seeking their first away win of the season. New York failed to convert on all five power plays, while Vancouver missed all four of their opportunities and has now gone scoreless in their last eight power plays.
