In response to the allegations, Diggs’ attorney, David Meier, strongly denied the accusations, stating that they are baseless and unsubstantiated. Meier attributed the timing of the charges to a financial disagreement between Diggs and the chef, which was not resolved to the chef’s satisfaction.
The New England Patriots issued a statement expressing their support for Diggs amidst the legal situation. The police report detailed an incident where the chef claimed that Diggs had physically assaulted her during a discussion about unpaid wages, allegedly causing her difficulty in breathing.
