Tragic SUV Collision Claims Life of 8-Year-Old

An SUV collision in Oakville resulted in the tragic death of an 8-year-old girl and left a 39-year-old woman injured, according to Halton police. The incident is under investigation by the collision reconstruction unit, as confirmed by Jeff Dillon from the Halton Regional Police Service. Dillon expressed the profound sorrow felt by law enforcement at the crash site.

The collision took place near North Service Road West and Lindsay Drive around 4 p.m. on Thursday. Reports indicate that the SUV veered off the road, hitting the woman and her daughter. Both victims were rushed to trauma centers, but sadly, the child succumbed to her injuries despite rescue efforts.

A 47-year-old Oakville man has been apprehended and faces charges of dangerous driving causing death, as per the police. Dillon mentioned that the man cooperated and stayed at the scene post-collision. He extended condolences to the family affected by the tragedy and assured that witness interviews and evidence collection will continue as part of the ongoing investigation.
