A man aged 45 from Inuvik, Northwest Territories, has been arrested in connection with the recent death of a woman in the area. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) announced on Tuesday that Kenneth Campbell is facing a single charge of second-degree murder.

According to authorities, they were alerted around 9:30 p.m. last Thursday about a fatal incident at a business located on Industrial Road. Subsequently, a 38-year-old woman was rushed to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Based on RCMP’s investigations, the case is believed to involve intimate-partner violence, with the death being classified as a femicide. Femicide refers to deliberate acts of killing women or girls based on their gender, primarily committed by men.
