Canadian freestyle skier Miha Fontaine secured the bronze medal in the men’s event at a recent World Cup aerials competition. Fontaine, hailing from Magog, Quebec, impressed with a score of 107.73, claiming his first-ever World Cup medal. Last week in Lac-Beauport, Quebec, the 22-year-old narrowly missed the podium by finishing fourth on the second day of competition.
The gold and silver medals were clinched by Chinese skiers, with Li Xinpeng dominating with a score of 137.19, a significant 25.19 points ahead of Wang Xindi. Emile Nadeau from Prevost, Quebec, achieved fifth place with a score of 104.49.
In the women’s category, Kalia Kuhn from the United States emerged victorious with a score of 105.6, closely followed by China’s Xu Mengtao with 105.17 and Australia’s Danielle Scott with 85.65 points. Alexandra Montminy from Lac-Beauport stood out as the top Canadian finisher, securing seventh place in the competition.
