Nathan Fielder, the well-known Vancouver-born comedian, writer, and director, has revealed his upcoming project following the recent season of “The Rehearsal.” He released a teaser for his new documentary focusing on Elizabeth Holmes, the founder of Theranos, who was found guilty of fraud in 2022 for falsely claiming to have developed revolutionary blood testing technology.
The documentary, titled “You Can See Everything,” was co-created with filmmaker Lance Oppenheim and centers around the period leading up to Holmes’s imprisonment in 2023. Oppenheim, known for his works such as “Spermworld” (2024) and “Some Kind of Heaven” (2020), has collaborated with Fielder to bring this project to life.
Fielder gained fame through his show “Nathan For You,” where he humorously provides misguided business advice to entrepreneurs. The documentary, distributed by A24, showcases the distinctive visual style of the company, featuring a compelling one-minute interaction between Fielder and Holmes, hinting at intense moments to come.
The teaser was unveiled at a surprise screening during the Telluride Film Festival, generating enthusiastic reactions from critics. Director Daniel Howat praised the documentary as “hysterical, shocking, and insane,” while music producer Erik Nordgren hailed it as the best film of the year, showcasing unique and groundbreaking storytelling.
This project is reminiscent of Fielder’s past interviews, such as a memorable exchange with former CBC president Hubert T. Lacroix. The documentary is slated for a theatrical release next month, promising an intriguing and captivating exploration of Elizabeth Holmes’s story.
